THIS AMAZING ANTIQUE (c1930) SWEDISH MADE "ORIGINAL ODHNER" MODEL M602 No. 5 PINWHEEL ARITHOMETER WITH SERIAL NUMBER 7-219933 IS MOST LIKELY ONE OF THE RAREST ANTIQUE ARITHOMETERS/ ADDING MACHINES THAT WE HAVE COME ACROSS. THIS ORIGINAL “AKTIEBOLAGET ORIGINAL ODHNER” MECHANICAL CALCULATOR OR ADDING MACHINE IS IN "AS FOUND" CONDITION AND HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED OR RESTORED BY US. WILGODT T. ODHNER'S "ARITHOMETERS" WERE BUILT IN ST. PETERSBURG IN RUSSIA FROM 1874. THE NAME "ORIGINAL-ODHNER" WAS FIRST USED IN ABOUT 1907. AFTER THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION IN 1917 THE FACTORY PASSED IN TO STATE OWNERSHIP AND PRODUCTION CEASED SOON AFTER, HOWEVER THE ORIGINAL-ODHNER WAS RE-ESTABLISHED IN GOTHENBURG IN SWEDEN. THE NEW FIRM BUILT A VERY SUCCESSFUL RANGE OF PINWHEEL CALCULATORS WHICH ADHERED CLOSELY TO THE TRADITIONAL DESIGN. THIS MODEL MEASURES 26cm LONG x 14cm WIDE AND IS 11.5cm HIGH. THE ADDING MACHINE WOULD NEED TO BE SERVICED, BUT WOULD BE MONEY WELL SPENT. THESE ADDING MACHINES HAVE ACHIEVED PRICES WELL OVER R 10 000.00.
