A fascinating piece of South African History - not to be missed
3 bottles for one bid
We discovered this wine in a cellar in a house in Johannesburg. It had lain unseen & undisturbed for at least 18 years. The door to the cellar was covered with a large, but movable book case, and the current occupant had no idea the cellar existed.
With help from Consol & Muratie we have estimated the date of vintage to be around 1979 to 1981 but it is no more than an estimate. The cellar was cool, dark & probably perfect for keeping wine. Despite this we are fairy sure this Claret is undrinkable, even if you're a varsity student. We cannot test it so we suggest you buy it for it's interest value & as a unique part of South African history, rather than to drink
We will not post this item so it will need to be collected in Johannesburg. Please note bottles are individual and not boxed
