THIS IS AN AWESOME (ORNAMENTAL) WAKIZASHI JAPANESE SAMURAI SWORD WITH STUNNING DETAILING ON THE GRIP. THE POMMEL IS METAL AND THE HAND GUARD HAS CLOTH BINDING, THE CROSS GUARD IS METAL. THE SWORD IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE! IT HAS NO MARKINGS, IT HAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THIS SWORD IS AWESOME & VERY COLLECTIBLE!!! THE TOTAL LENGTH IS APPROXIMATELY 69cm.

The wakizashi being worn together with the katana was the official sign that the wearer was a samurai or swordsman of feudal Japan. When worn together the pair of swords were called daish¿, which translates literally as "big-little". The katana was the big or long sword and the wakizashi the companion sword.
