An exquisite antique (1902) hallmarked sterling silver engraved cigar/ cigarette box

This incredible and rare hallmarked antique solid sterling silver cigar/ cigarette box weighs in at a staggering 940g and the hallmarks on the box consist of the "anchor" city mark confirming its was made in Birmingham, the lion Passant confirming it is British sterling silver (925) and the letter "c" confirming it was made in 1902. The makers stamp (Assay) is unclear. The cigar box measures 19cm long x 13.5cm wide x 7cm high. The box cartouche is engraved as follows: "JP Mullen from his undersigned friends" and the box has a collection of signatures around the box. The box is cedar lined with removable dividers. The incredible Art Deco style of the box with rounded corners, a slightly domed and hinged lid with machine-turned decoration is finished with four step-styled square feet. There is a minimal age and usage related wear and tear.
