Hardcover with dustjacket - jacket shows quite a lot of wear (please see pics - will be covered in removeable plastic film), There is some age toning to the endpapers but otherwise the book is in good condition.
Professor A. F. Hattersley researches the history of how the people lived in South Africa. He describes the entire social scene as it developed through the ages. With 13 colour plates by artists such as Burchell, Bell, Bowler and others, with a fold out colour plate by Langschmidt, of Wale Street, Cape Town, in the 1850's.
