THIS INCREDIBLY RARE VINTAGE (1944) NAVAL "ADMIRALTY" PATTERN No. W5799 (OSCILLATOR) TEST SET MODEL S.E.2 IS HOUSED IN ITS ORIGINAL SOLID WOODEN BOX/ CASE AND ALSO HAS THE INSTRUCTIONS AND DIAGRAMS INFO. THE MACHINE WAS USED TO GENERATE SIGNALS FOR THE ADJUSTMENT OF MILITARY COMMUNICATION DEVICES. THE UNIT MEASURES 50.5cm LONG x 26cm WIDE x 28cm HIGH. BY THE LOOKS OF IT ALL THE CABLES ARE WITH THE UNIT AND THE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN IT IS SWITCHED ON. THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE UNIT IS BR 441. THE HINGE ON THE BOX HAS COME UNDONE AND THERE IS AGE AND USAGE RELATED WEAR AND TEAR. THESE UNITS WERE MADE OBSOLETE BY THE NAVY IN 1945.
