An interesting South African serviette ring made by Norman Watson. A nice piece of Africana. Norman Watson worked from 16 Fenton Road, Durban from the 1950's to 1970's, he was described as Engraver and Manufacturing Jeweller. Trademark of horse and rider is said to represent Dick King, the "Saviour of Natal", who in 1842 rode 960 kilometres in 10 days from Durban to Grahamstown, to get help for the British garrison besieged by the Boers
