Product OverviewThe MAX1406CPE+ is a ±15KV ESD protected, EMC compliant, 230Kbps,3-transmitter/3-receiver RS232 transceiver in 16 pin DIP package. Alltransmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected to ±15KV using IEC1000-4-2air-gap discharge, ±8KV using IEC 1000-4-2 contact discharge and ±15KV using thehuman body model. The device is pin and functionally compatible with theindustry standard MC145406 and existing designs can instantly becomeelectromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliant.
