Battery Charger, 1 Cell of Li-Ion battery, 22V input, 4.2V / 2A charge, SOT-23-6Product OverviewThe MAX1736EUT42+T is a single-cell Li+ battery charger for current limitedsupply in 6 pin SOT-23 package. It provides simple, safe, low cost method ofcharging single-cell Li+ battery with nearly no heat generation. Combined withcurrent limited voltage source IC provides precharge, fast-charge andtop-off-charge capabilities. After constant current fast charge, top-off safelyfinishes charging battery by pulse width modulating charge current. The top-offon-time is kept below electrochemical time constant of cell. The key advantageof this method is charge circuit is small and generates minimal heat whileproviding a safe method of charging to ensure maximum cell life. It initiatescharging in one of four ways, battery insertion, charger power-up, batteryvoltage threshold and by external manipulation of the EN pin.
