Product OverviewThe MAX3073EESD+ is a ±15KV ESD protected, fail-safe, hot swap RS485/RS422transceiver in 14 pin NSOIC package. This 3.3V transceiver has one driver andone receiver. It includes fail-safe circuitry which provides logic high receiveroutput when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver provides logichigh if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). Thedevice includes a hot swap capability to eliminate false transitions on the busduring power-up or hot insertion. The MAX3073E has slew rate limited drivers butallow transmit speeds up to 500Kbps. This transceivers draw 800µA of supplycurrent when unloaded or when fully loaded with the drivers disabled. Thetransceiver has 1/8 unit load receiver input impedance allowing up to 256transceivers on the bus.
