Product OverviewThe MAX489EPD+ is a low power, slew rate limited RS485/RS422 transceiver in 14pin NSOIC package. It contains one driver and one receiver. This reduced slewrate driver minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused by improperlyterminated cables, thus allowing error free data transmission up to 250Kbps. Thedriver is short circuit current limited and is protected against excessive powerdissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into ahigh impedance state.
