Some dispute with the date of publication Google translates as 1844  for MDCCCXIV  but if you add 100 years for the 4th C   it will be 1944

Yet date on 2nd page as per photograph is 1899 ?

So actual date of publication is not clear .

Good and clean condition ;  Writing added ( only ) 1 name ; very good tight binding ; no browning ; no dust jacket 

The mark at the bottom of the last photo is not a mark - it is a shadow .

Note the marks on the front cover .
