Introduces present-day readers of the Old Testament to the ancient Near Eastern world; to the living conditions (struggle for survival) of the ancient Israelites; to the religious literature which was written to help them cope with life and make sense of events which impacted on their lives. It is the authors’ firm belief that a better understanding of the original contexts of the various texts can lead to a sound interpretation of the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament.  
 

Book is in very good condition except for a  few very light pencil-undelined-sentences in very few places in the book.
