This symbol, thought to ward off the "evil eye", has been found in many cultures all over the world with different names - in Turkey as the Nazar, in Judaism the same symbol is found on the Hamsa.
This one is a traditional glass version, hung on blue leather with a brass (metal) bead for decoration.
