Ancient Rome: Antoninus Pius (138-161 AD) Silver Denarius

Titus Aelius Hadrianus Antoninus Pius was Roman emperor from AD 138 to 161. He was the fourth of the so-called Five Good Emperors from the Nerva Antonine dynasty.

The obverse of the silver Denarius shows the bare head Antoninus Pius facing right while the reverse shows Fortuna (goddess of fortune) holding a cornucopia and rudder on a globe.

The pictures at the bottom were taken before the coin was certified and slabbed by Sangs.
