Ancient Rome: Constantine II (337 to 340 AD) Bronze Follis

Constantine II (Flavius Claudius Constantinus) was Roman emperor from 337 to 340 AD. The son of the emperor Constantine I, he was proclaimed Caesar by his father shortly after his birth.

The obverse shows the laureated and draped bust of the emperor while the reverse shows a camp-gate with two turrets and one star above.

The coin was struck at Heraclea in Turkey (mint marked SMHA).

The pictures at the bottom were taken before the coin was certified and slabbed by Sangs.
