Anglo-Boer War Artillery Photographs (with "Kitcheners composite Long Tom")
Photograph, one of only two known extant (refer Louis Changuion, Silence of the Guns: The History of the Long Toms of the Anglo-Boer War), of the remains of the Long Tom destroyed on the hill Feeskoppie outside Haenertsburg on 30 April, 1901, and later captured by Kitchener's Fighting Scouts at Haenertsburg, being reassembled by the Royal Engineers in the yard of the NZASM workshops in Pretoria before being shipped ('the fragments combined into one - in ordnance and shipped home in the SS Canada') off to Britain.
Part of set of two photographs, the other being (included in the lot) of British 4.7 Inch Naval Guns also in the NZASM yard.
Please have a look at my other Anglo-Boer War and ZAR listings in lieu of low, combined local shipping. International buyers, please confirm shipping totals with seller before placing your order.
