An original 5 bar Queen's South Africa Medal, officially named to a colonial unit - South African Light Horse raised in 1899. Medal recipient is a Tpr. J. Slaine No. 36413. Slaine is listed as being severely wounded at Rietkuil on 17/12/1901. Copy of relevant casualty page included, as well as copy of list indicating that he left service in 01/04/1902 - time expired. Some nice information pertaining to the SALH included as well from their establishment to the conclusion of the war.  Original period hat badge included as well as a spent 303 cartridge. No overseas bidders please. Postage locally within South African will be POSTNET R100-00.
