On the Queens medal he is a corporal and on the Kings and LS&GC medal he is a sergeant.

The Queens Medal has the bars for Laing’s Nek, Transvaal, Relief of Ladysmith, Orange Free State and Tugela Heights while the Kings Medal has the bars for South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902.

Also included are old military pictures, certificate and letter from his commanding officer, badges and pins, etc. Some of the photographs look as if he could also have served in India.
