Animal Traction in South Africa: Today and Tomorrow
Proceedings of the SANAT workshop held 26-28th March 1996
Animal traction, the use of animals to assist with farm work, remains a relevant practice in South Africa, particularly among smallholder farmers and in certain rural areas. While large-scale commercial farms have largely transitioned to tractors, animal traction persists as a valuable and sometimes more economical option for tasks like plowing, planting, weeding, and transportation.
This manual covers the proceedings of the SANAT workshop held 26-28th March 1996 including papers presented.
