                                                                                                                     Biography

 

Ann is a well known South African Artist, born in Pietermaritzburg. She started drawing and painting at a very early age and studied Art at the Johannesburg Technical College for three years. After that she became a commercial Artist where her approach was photo realism. Longing to break away she studied Oils at the Da Vinci Fine Art School for 10 years, and won the Artist of the year Competition in 1978. This resulted in many wonderful opportunities opening for her in her life. She's been a member of Artists Under the Sun since 1972.

Subject Matter, Style, PhilosophyAnn paints in oils using brush and palette knife. She is much in demand for her Historical works and street scenes, harbour scenes, and others around South Africa.  Ann is a Traditional Realist.  Her colours and style is unique generating a warm and sunny character with a zest for life all around her.

AchievementsShe has received numerous commissions of Historical works in South Africa which grace municipal buildings, museums, schools and offices. Her name is featured in many South African Art books. Ann had numerous exhibitions resulting in her successful art career and also teaches oils.
