Anna H. Smith, Sketches by Ida Mae Stone and Harry Clayton

Published on the occasion of Johannesburg's ninetieth birthday.

Johannesburg: Ad Donker, 1976. Hardcover with dustjacket covered in protective plastic (no sellotape), oblong format, 208 pages, illustrations throughout, index.

Condition: very good, with some yellowing of pages and an ex libris plate and booksellers stickers on the first end paper. Dustjacket is fair with an 11cm tear on the front and much shelf wear and tiny tears and creases at the top and bottom.

Very useful book on the very early history of Johannesburg, with sketches depicting buildings and people from the late 1880s and early 1890s.
