ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM WIKIPEDIA
The G-suit is a garment used primarily by special drivers hunting and astronauts , to prevent the occurrence of the phenomenon called black veil , seen from the First World War during dogfights. Powers and maneuverabilities aircraft rapidly increasing, it soon became necessary to protect the pilots to enable them to perform aerial maneuvers inducing load factors high.
History
The principle of the G-suit was designed in 1941 by the Canadian Wilbur R. Franks Toronto. Many scientists have contributed to its development including the American neurophysiologist EH Lambert and Morton Forrest Bird .
Operating principle
Initially it was a simple tight strapping of the lower body (thighs in particular) to prevent the blood accumulates, causing poor flow to the brain, resulting in unconsciousness.
Another technique commonly used is to pressurize the body using compressed air.
Some sources cite the giraffe like animal with physiological characteristics to the source of his invention (how stem the blood to several meters) [ref. needed] .
The principle of operation of modern combinations developed among other Germany under the name Libelle ( Dragonfly in German) is modeled on an observed especially in these insects flying very jerky body is subjected to accelerations of up to 30 phenomenon G .
The combination contains a liquid from flowing freely and compressing the lower portions of the body. Equipped and trained pilot can withstand accelerations of 10 G before losing consciousness.
