Magnificent set of antique photos behind glass in lovely gilded frames. At the back of each of these is a hand written note to the person(s) the framed photographs was given to.

The first image is that of a handsome couple with an inscription at the back: "To Father & Mother with best love and remembrances from your affectionate children, Grete & Tom. Dated 30 / 4 / 04." The glass at the back is cracked.

The second portrait is that of two young children, and the message at the back: "To Father & Mother, With fondest love & best wishes for mother's birthday, also hopes that she may be spared to enjoy many many more. Fritz & Tommis (Family Thorp). Cape Town, 14th August 1904."

Both portraits are the same size - 19.18 x 25.4 cm - in the same type of frame. Both are done by studio James Warson & Coy, Adderley Street, Cape Town, SA with a sticker at the back: "Karl Kohl. Einrahmung von Bildern und Spiegeln, Kunst- und Bauglaserei, Schoneberg-Berlin. Strubenrauch-Strasse Nr. 31 (couple) and Nr. 11 (children), Fernssprecher.

In good condition for their age.
