Antique 1850-1899 Chinese Pottery Shiwan Jade Hexagon Glazed Ginger Spice Jar with silver plated lid which i have added as an extra .obviously there was no silver plating done in the early 1800''s but i thought it would make a nice addition if you want to use the jar. there is no charge for the lid .i myself would display it without the lid as it is such an old and stunning piece of chinese pottery.

This beautifully Green Chinese glazed jar or vase was probably made in Guangdong province of China called Shekwan or Shiwan between 1850 and 1899.  Originally sold for household use (sometimes used as ginger jars),The hexagonal shape has raised panels on each side with a different plant species. In a vibrant green with an unglazed base this has a great contrast of textures! The green glaze is crazed with age and pits There are also bumps that appear to have been original to the creation of the jar since they are glazed over.  The shape outside measures approximately 4 1/2" high x 5" wide with an opening of 2 1/4" diameter. Made of early earthenware.
