Antique (1897-1904) Blue Willow Tea Cup &Vintage Grafton Blue Willow Saucer
Acollectable blue willow pattern fine porcelain tea duo which consists of anantique tea cup manufactured by Salt & Nixon, Longton, Satffordshirebetween 1897 and 1904 during the time frame in which the company used the blueStaffordshire knotin its mark, and a saucer manufactured by Royal GraftonChina (A.B. Jones & Sons Ltd.) during the 1940s. Bothitems in this assembled tea duo are decorated in the popular and collectableblue willow pattern. Salt& Nixon manufactured from 1897 in the Longton area of Staffordshire andused the Staffordshire knot above a shield with their initials until 1904. A.B.Jones & Sons began manufacturing in 1876 as Alfred Bailey Jones and builtthe Grafton Works in 1900. In 1966 the company was purchased by Crown HouseGlass Ltd. and in 1971 was sold to New Zealand based Crown Lynn Potteries Ltd. STAMPS OR MARKS: The tea cup is stampedunderneath as described above. The saucer is stamped underneath Royal GraftonBone China England. CONDITION: Small areas of rubbing (fading) occur on thegold trim, aside from this both items are in good condition. SIZE: Tea cup height of rim: 7cm, Diameter of base: 4.2 cm, Diameter of rim: 6.8 cm Saucer height of rim: 1.5cm, Diameter of base: 7.4 cm, Diameter of rim: 13.2 cm WEIGHT: 225 g
