Antique 18ct Gold 'EVERTHINE' Diamond Sweetheart Ring (Hidden Message) 

This fabulous, scarce, Edwardian, 18ct rose gold & diamond sweetheart ring, opens with a hidden message and features a wide band with a hinged lid or flap, beautifully decorated in relief with strands of ivy and a raised gold and diamond heart in the middle. When the flap or outer band is lifted it reveals a hidden compartment with the word 'EVERTHINE' inside. The word implies a 'steadfast loyalty and devotion, where one person is always yours', often associated with deep love and commitment. This wonderful ring is in excellent condition with lovely clear hallmarks and the top band clips shut as it should. It was made in Chester, England in 1902 by goldsmith 'Edward Vaughton' (E.V) and has a ring size of 'L ½' and weighs 3,8g. 

This scarce ring comes with a detailed valuation, with a replacement of R25 000, a copy of which is listed in the photographs. (The valuation was done by a very reputable Gemmologist but doesnt take antiquity and rarity into consideration).
