The antique 18ct yellow gold ring is set with a line of seven round-cut rubies (one circa 0.19ct; two circa 0.14ct each; two circa 0.07ct each and two circa 0.016ct each making a total of circa 0.64ct; - the rubies are possibly laboratory grown and are of a deep red colour with a touch of purple; although they exhibit good clarity, they have some unusually shaped bubble inclusions which indicate that they may be early 20th Century laboratory made stones). They are set down the centre of the elongated, navette-shaped head, and they are surrounded by 14 small rose-cut diamonds (circa 0.28ct in total). Laboratory grown stones are not unusual in rings of this age and quality. The ring is marked 18ct.
