Antique, 18K gold emerald and diamond enhancer

Provenance

A bright green emerald catches the eye and brings to mind the lush greenery of the Scottish countryside, beautifully enveloped in a hand made bezel in yellow gold. Contrasting with the vivid green hue of the emerald, are 16 bright Old European-cut diamonds ( and 2 round brilliant cut diamonds) surrounding in bright white gold with millgrain accents, creating gorgeous contrast and texture. The enhancer clasp and back of the stones has been hand crafted in gleaming 18K yellow gold. Our thoughts are that this pendant was once perhaps a clasp, and was converted later on to an enhancer which makes it more versatile and wearable in our modern era. Made circa 1920's.
