Art Deco was a decorative art style originating in France in the 1910s and 20s, which peaked in the 1930s.  A key feature is the use of clean, simple geometric shapes with strong, symmetrical lines. Common patterns include chevrons, zigzags, Greek key and other bold geometric designs. Motifs were inspired by ancient Egypt (especially after King Tutankhamun's tomb discovery in 1922), ancient Greece and Rome, Africa, and Asia.

NORFOLK PATTERN (1895-1960s):
THE BLUE AND WHITE NORFOLK PATTERN WAS PRODUCED OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME WITH THE OLDER PIECES IN TRADITIONAL HEXAGONAL OR OCTAGONAL SHAPE MORE MODERN PIECES WITH A ROUNDED SHAPE.

In 1891 the Mckinley Tariff Act of America required all imports to America to bear the name of the country of origin. So, an item bearing the words - England - or another country, will have been produced on or after 1891.
Similarly - Made In England - will date a piece to after 1921.

ROYAL DOULTON:
In 1899 the Doulton studio recruited a young designer by the name of Charles Noke.
He is now regarded as the brainchild behind Royal Doulton seriesware, a range of products were standard blank pottery shapes (everything from plates to jugs, bowls to vases and teapots) could be decorated with a consistent theme.
Production continued at the Lambeth factory until 1956, after which Doulton concentrated on their activities at Burslem.
It has a 'family' of English brands, having merged with Minton in 1968, and gaining Royal Albert from the merger with AEP in 1971. And, in 2005, these historic names became part of the Waterford Wedgwood group.
It is now part of WWRD Holdings Ltd. the name being an acronym for the main components of the business: Waterford Chrystal, Wedgwood and Royal Doulton
