REAL ANTIQUE PEARL RING. 19th CENTURY
A PIECE OF HISTORIC ENGLAND!

This is an elegant antique pearl ring with an intriguing design. It is a late 19th century ring and is most likely originally used as an engagement ring - pearls being the traditional engagement stone during that era. The ring is worked in 9ct yellow gold, and designed as a half eternity band with graduated bezel set split pearls. The ring is set with natural seed pearls. They are in good condition but not constant in colour, varying from slightly iridescent peacock blue on the one side to a soft pale tint of off-white for the rest of the pearls. Suggest you look at all the photographs carefully to see what I mean by the variation! The dainty shank of the ring has interesting round designs crafted on either side.
Sadly, the ring is not hallmarked. I suspect worn away with age. I can only tell you that I carried it back personally from Birmingham, the jewellery quarter of England. It was bought from one of the reputable antique jewellery dealers there. I did have it authenticated by an independent jeweller in Cape Town. No diamonds. No gemstones. But special in a different way. It will appeal to someone who likes the idea of owning an old piece of English history!
