9ct Gold Hinged Bangle
Birmingham circa 1909?
Weight: 7.9grams.
Stamped:
*Birmingham Anchor
*Maker's Mark 'S S'
*9 .375 (9ct Gold)
*k (date letter 1909?)
I have researched the markings on the internet which is why I believe the bangle is likely circa 1909 - because of the date letter, small-letter 'k', stamped on the bangle.
The bangle is stamped in 5 different places!
The bangle is hollow and still in very good condition. The clasp works well and snaps in place quite firmly.
The size of the bangle is 6cm in width (fits a slim adult's wrist).
The depth of the bangle is approximately 7mm and is a 'D' shape.
The weight and the gold stamps were verified by two different jewellers.
The tiny o-ring from the safety chain on one end is missing. (an inexpensive repair?)
There are some small dents on the bangle, which certainly does not detract from the beauty of the bangle!
Any questions or advice on this item is welcome!
