Antique 9ct Gold Padlock Clasp

The small, antique 9ct gold padlock has a shackle that opens and is hinged. It also has a small, fixed loop under the shackle, which is designed to have a safety-chain pass through it. The padlock can thus be worn as clasp for a bracelet or necklace. The padlock is marked with "375", the anchor for Birmingham, a maker's mark, and date letter probably for 1904, all partially rubbed. The shackle is marked "9" and "375".
