 This beautifully crafted antique 9ct yellow gold piece has a pretty, floral openwork design with a tiered, raised centre, and a spider web-like design creating a solid gold border, so that the flower seems to float in the middle. A central, bezel set seed pearl is raised on the top tier in the centre of the piece, a ridged texture detailing on the bezel. This is surrounded by 8 x bezel set pearls on the lower tier. The web-like border bears 56 x small seed pearls as accents. The combination of the creamy, lustrous pearls and the warm, old gold gives enhances the antique feel of the pendant. Measuring 27mm in diameter x 7mm high, the 4,4 gram pendant is threaded on a delicate 42cm 9ct yellow gold anchor link chain. The pendant can also be used as a brooch by removing it from the chain, and utilising the pin. It comes from an estate and is exquisite in its throw-back to another era. All the pearls are in tact and the gold is gently buffed in keeping with its age. I have had the piece authenticated and evaluated by an independent jeweller. Her insurance certificate for R8'500 will accompany the piece.
