This mask was procured at the antiques emporium of the Hotel Intercontinental Ivoire in Abidjan in 1997.
The mask comes from the northern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo and is attributed to the Songue ethnic group.
The design and colours of the mask denotes a fabrication circa 1900.
