Offering a pair of antique jam bowls crafted from exquisite art glass, these bowls are nestled within a superior silverplated cruet holder. The glass bowls feature a distinct diamond pattern with an 'I' in the middle, suggesting a potential connection to the Illinois Glass Company in the USA. The cruet stand bears the mark "Superior Electroplate," possibly hailing from Sheffield, England. Under UV light, the glass exhibits a subtle fluorescence, indicating the presence of lead glass.

The design showcases masterful glasswork: the cranberry red top band boasts a ribbed, knobbed edge in a wavy, scalloped form. The clear glass bowls feature fluted edges or a geometric oval pattern, blending clear and cranberry red glass. Polished pontil marks are visible underneath and can be felt. The cruet stand is adorned with a wavy, scalloped rim, a central attached handle, and four eagle claw-like feet.

Markings on the glass bowls reveal an embossed diamond pattern with an 'I' inside, while the holder is engraved with "Superior Electroplate." The 'I inside a Diamond' mark was used by the Illinois Glass Company in the USA from 1915 to 1929, primarily on glass bottles. Interestingly, the company's production of art glass items like this set is rare. The origin of "Superior Silverplate" remains somewhat obscure, though sources suggest a possible connection to a company in Sheffield, England.

Dimensions: 24cm in length, 17cm in height, and 13cm in width.

Condition: The set exhibits minor chips on two of the red ribbed knobs on the rim, hardly noticeable. Overall, the vintage pieces are in good condition, adding a touch of antique elegance to any collection.
