I have listed these two items together as I feel that they somehow match.
I have managed to find information on the bread knife which was made between 1900 and 1909 by J. H. Potter - the name appears in the markings - Silversmiths of Rockingham works, Sheffield, England.
The blade is beautifully embossed and has a sterling silver collar with the proper marks and the bone handle is in good condition with some age wear scratches and two faint pink dots.
Length 25cm.
The cake or sandwich tongs are marked Silverplate Zinc Alloy. Vintage, perhaps of Italian design (according to info on E-Bay which might not be reliable) - personally I think they are English and so useful for those cucumber sandwiches ;-)
Length 22cm.
