Antique British '25 IN Mark IV' Shrapnel Projectile Shell

 

This original, heavy, very early inert British artillery shell or projectile is made from forged steel with various markings and stamps around it. The shell is hollow and completely safe and is in a good, aged condition with some of the original red paint visible around the top, where a timing fuse would have screwed in. Some of the markings include '25IN, F-S, R-L,' and the military 'Broad Arrow' stamp. The shell measures 15,5cm x 6,1cm and weighs 1070g.
