Antique Calcium Carbide Hand Lamp used in the mines - Brayluta England
The lamps are in a relatively good vintage condition. All the screws and knobs does turn. Something to note, these lamps are made with Copper and are standing 23cm tall. Unfortunate, I did not test them, where does one find Carbide these days...
The Antique Calcium Carbide Hand Lamp made by Brayluta England is a remarkable artifact that represents a timeless design and practicality. The lamp operated on calcium carbide, which produced acetylene gas when mixed with water, providing a bright and steady source of light for outdoor or industrial settings. The lamp's durable construction allowed it to withstand harsh conditions, making it a valuable tool for coal miners, railway workers, and other laborers. Its sleek design and vintage appearance make it a popular choice for collectors and enthusiasts of antique lamps. Overall, the Brayluta England Antique Calcium Carbide Hand Lamp is a testament to a bygone era of ingenuity and practicality. Please review the pictures for the condition of the item.
