Antique Chinese Stoneware Pottery Roof Tile Statue in Glass Display Case. Superb Detail.

A rare and very early Chinese roof tile figural warrior astride a horse.  Hand-crafted from clay and beautifully hand-painted, it is displayed in a box frame with a sliding glass panel.  Note : From the position of the hands, it appears as if at some point, the warrior would have been holding a weapon of some kind. This is no longer present. From my research this seems to be quite common as all similar examples have either no weapon or a modern, replaced one.  This statue is a museum quality display piece with extraordinary detail and craftsmanship.
