Historical Note
The Court China mark belongs to William Lowe Ltd, a respected Staffordshire pottery active from the late 1800s to around 1930. Originally established at the St. Gregorys Works, the company later expanded to the Sydney Works, Longton, where this set was produced.
After Lowes passing in 1898, the business continued under his name until it was taken over by Thomas C. Wild & Sons (the Paragon and Royal Albert group) around 1918.
Pieces with this Court China WL mark are scarce and highly collectible, representing the final years of the Lowe factory before closure.
Perfect For
Collectors of true antique Staffordshire china, display cabinets, or those who appreciate the grandeur of early English hand-painted Imari ware.
