TEN MAPS ON ONE PLATE. THIS MAP BELONGS TO A SERIES OF HISTORICAL MAPS KNOWN AS THE PAREGON THEATRI WHICH APPEARED FROM 1579 ONWARDS. IN 1619 BERTIUS BOUGHT THIS PLATE AND INCLUDED THE MAP IN HIS HISTORICAL ATLAS, TEATRUM GEOGRAPHIAE VETERIS. TAKEN FROM THE INTERNET. THIS MAP IS FRAMED BEHIND GLASS AND MEASURES 48.5cm X 35.7cm. FRAME 2.5cm WIDE. THE MAP IS APPARENTLY COPPER ENGRAVED HAS BEEN HAND COLOURED. IT HAS A CENTRE FOLD WITH SLIGHT WEAR TO A SPOT TO THE MIDDLE SECTION.
