ANTIQUE (antique = 100 years and older) GRIMWADES WINTON ENGLAND : HANDPAINTED c1906 Pattern nr 2696

Royal Winton is an English brand of earthenware and fine bone china tableware, made by Grimwades Limited, a Stoke-on-Trent based company founded by Leonard Lumsden Grimwade and his elder brother, Sidney Richard Grimwade, in 1885. Pieces are marked with either name, or both.

The marks shown for Winton/Grimwades in Goddens encyclopedia may not be identical but similar in graphic style to this mark - dating from the early part of the 20th century after 1906. Goddens doesn't show all variations of the standard marks simply because some of the variations are uncommon and may not have been available to the writer at the time of publication.

Height +- 9 cm

Diameter at top +- 23 cm

Hand painted flowers underglaze. Gilt rim and cabbage leaf design.

I have searched the internet and could not find any other examples of this specific pattern. This tell me that this pattern is quite rare and unique.

This is a lovely piece to own. It's still in a very good condition considering its age and will give you joy for many more years. Most definitely an item to treasure and pass on to your heirs.

Its a lovely old piece which can still be used and enjoyed daily. A MUST HAVE!!

Due to the fact that I am a working Seller, I will not always be able to answer your queries immediately. Please have patience and keep it in mind.

I also DO NOT WORK on Sundays on Bid or Buy. So please do not expect a reply until the next working day.

I have the right to close and/or withdraw an item from auction at any time.

Should you win a bid and non payment occurs, I will be left no choice but to report and block you. The reason being that non payment has a financial implication to me as a Seller. We pay commission on all orders/bids won (even when it is a non-payment) as well as on shipping cost. Thus bidding on an item, not intending to proceed with payment is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
