Awesome Antique 'Austro-Hungarian' Gemstone Tiara
This fabulous, rare 19thcentury gilded 'Austro-Hungarian' Tiara from the mid, to late 1800's has been beautifully made and decorated with layered, ornate flowers set with faceted garnets and cabochon-cut turquoise stones, which are surrounded by enamelled petals or flower heads, as well as numerous garnets and turquoise stones going down the length of the sides to complete the tiara. The metal has been tested, but a definitive result can't be given, as it's a mixture of various metals, including silver and brass, and there's also a lovely soft gilding or gold wash along the front between the stones and along the back. This amazing piece is in excellent condition and measures 16,5cm at its widest, with a width of 2,3cm and weighs 45g.
