Antique Giant 8 Day Pocket Watch by Mappin & Webb (1908)

This large, open faced, Station Masters 8-day pocket watch has a lovely, bold, white enamel dial with black roman numerals and a seconds dial. It has a white metal or chromed case with a snap shut dust cover and outer case. The enamel dial is stamped 'MAPPIN & WEBB (1908) LTD.' 'INCOR: ENGLAND. LONDON & JOHANNESBURG' '8 DAYS' and the movement has an impressed No. '111776.' The movement probably needs a service as it stops and starts and gets going with a shake. Once going, it keeps good time. Other than that, it is in excellent condition. It measures 6.5cm in diameter, 9.3cm with chain hanger, has a thickness of 2cm and a good weight of 208.4g.
