Exquisite, Victorian, solid, sterling silver salver with beaded edge & fine engraved decoration. Perfectly raised on three, bead edged, scroll bottom feet. Beautifully engraved,  forming a 12 pointed star shaped cartouche which is vacant. Excellent age related condition with few signs of use, truly beautiful period salver.
 
George J. Richards, son of William Richards (Silversmith & Goldsmith), freed by patrimony 1839. 1st mark 1844. In 1857 his former apprentice Edward Charles Brown became partner and they traded as Richards & Brown. Richards retired in 1867.
