Henry Louis Becker was the son of balance maker Christopher Becker and Louisa Manus, daughter of an apothecary family. He was born in the Netherlands in 1848. He designed this pharmaceutical scale prior to 1930. The label indicates it comes from Brussels, Belgium.

The scale, in a fair condition, can be dismantled. No weights are included
The pillar of the scale is mounted on a wooden base that measures 49 cm x 19,5 cm.
There are two brass pans (15cm in diameter) which rests on two balancing attachments
The crossbeam measures 36cm and there is a stamp that says 1000 on the left and a logo on the right. The cross beam also shows symmetrical markings.
The pillar attached to the wooden base is 39,5cm high.
The manufacturer's name is stamped on the scale and it was made in Brussels.

The base is damaged on the underside where the pillar is screwed in. See picture
