Antique Irish 'George III' Silver Sugar Tongs (1807)
This fabulous pair of Irish 'George III' sterling silver sugar tongs from the early 1800's, are in superb condition with a good weight. They were made in 1807 in Dublin, Ireland by silversmiths 'Tudor & Whitford' (T&W) and retailed by 'M. WEST' (Mathew West was a prominent Dublin silversmith and retailer). The tongs have an engraved family crest on the bend of an 'arm holding a small branch of leaves' and measure 18.5cm x 1,8cm with a weight of 68g.
