A handsome antique mantel clock by American clockmakers Ingraham. The case is of ebonized wood with the facia displaying 8 columns and 4 "cathedral windows", hence the popular name "The Palace Model". The dial face is of ivoroid and states "Ingraham" and "Manufactured by the E.Ingraham Co., Bristol, Conn., U.S.A.". On both sides, metal handles in the form of ringed lion's heads and metal cast scrolled feet. The mechanism is running and comes with the original winding key. Strikes on the hour and half hour with clear, deep strikes. Please note that the clock does occasionally stop running and the strike is out of sync i.e. it strikes 5 times at 7 o clock etc. I believe this is a relatively easy fix but I'll leave that to those in the know. As always, with old clocks, I recommend a good service. The case and all decorative features appear to be in good, antique condition. The dial face does display some crackling but is fully intact. According to my research, the Ingraham Palace Model was manufactured from 1915 to 1929. Please see images above for more detail.
