Antique 'Mappin & Webb' Silver-Plated Basket 

This attractive, very good quality, antique silver-plated basket from the early 1900's was made by the well-known silversmiths 'Mappin & Webb' in England. The shallow basket is beautifully chased and embossed with various flowers and the handle realistically resembles branches with knots and attaches to the bowl with twigs, leaves and acorn buds, all in relief. It is stamped 'MAPPIN & WEBB, PRINCES PLATE, LONDON & SHEFFIELD' on the base and is in great condition for its age. The basket measures 24cn in diameter, has a depth of 4cm, stands 14cm high and weighs 690g.
